Miniature Pinscher
AKC & CKC Toy Group
Origin & History
The Miniature Pinscher, often called the "Min Pin," originated in Germany several centuries ago. Despite their resemblance, they are not related to the Doberman Pinscher but are actually an older breed. They were developed to hunt vermin in homes and stables.
Known as the "King of Toys," this breed combines fearless spirit with compact size. Their high-stepping "hackney" gait and alert expression give them an aristocratic bearing.
Miniature Pinschers are lively, curious, and self-possessed dogs that make excellent companions for active owners who appreciate their big-dog personality in a small package.
